Shoes are of course much more than just a fashion statement. We can sometimes forget that shoes when properly selected can protect more than just our feet! There is actually a kind of science to selecting the right shoe for certain situations. Lets take a look at some of the different situations where having the right shoe can make all the difference.
When working out, whether running or walking briskly, we put a lot of added strain on our feet, so we need to be prepared for that. Make sure you choose a shoe that is comfortable and has good arch support. Some shoes are specifically designed for running or walking, but generally any shoe that gives your feet plenty of arch support and comfort will due. It's a good idea to try and break in new shoes before doing a lot of walking or running in them so as to avoid blisters.
Boating or skateboarding usually requires a good deck type shoe. These shoes are sometimes made out of a canvas type material and have no arch support at all. They offer great support when walking on wet surfaces, and will give you a more stable feel when riding a skate board. (note, some skater shoes are designed more with fashion in mind than better skating ability)
Working construction, one may benefit from heavy leather type boots, perhaps with a steel toe that can help protect you feet should something heavy fall on them. Keep in mind they are on the heavy and clunky side so if you plan to do roofing you may want a lighter shoe. When doing roofing, it's really up to the individual what type of shoe to wear. Some like deck shoes with there flat no arch feel. Some like athletic shoes and still others like a more traditional type hiking shoe. One thing to remember is to make sure they feel comfortable and they fit right.
Ah, a day at the beach: Sandals are always a great selection, although I never recommend driving while wearing them! Once you get to the beach though you can quickly make the switch. Sandals will keep your feet protected from the hot sand, and are easy to kick off when you want to get in the water. Once your day of fun is done, you can slip on your regular shoes and away you go!
Choosing the right shoe can mean the difference between comfort and safety, or disaster! It pays to choose wisely.

What Does Being Educated Really Mean?
What does it really mean to be educated? Some say an educated man must hold some type of degree that shows he has been to college. Others may say that an educated person must have a certain degree of "natural raw intelligence." So what does being educated really mean?
Again, most people feel that in order for one to be considered "educated," one must have attended at least a few years of college. Currently, formal guidelines are in place, should one want to be officially recognized as an authority in a particular subject or field. For instance, most practitioners in the medical field are required to hold a medical degree in order to be authorized to practice medicine.
Most people would agree this method of "checks and balances" has done much to protect the public, and It certainly has.
On the other hand, the idea that an individual needs a formal or higher education to be considered educated, and thus have the ability to be successful, is just simply not true.
One perfect example of this was the auto manufacturer Henry Ford. Despite his lack of formal education, (it is rumored he had less than 3 years) he built a very successful automobile empire that is still thriving today. He had thousands of people in his employment, some of them were considered the smartest minds in the world at that time.
Another example was Thomas A. Edison, one of the greatest inventors that ever lived. He had only a few months of formal education. He learned to read and write mostly by his mother, and yet much of the technology he invented has been taught at some of the most prestigious colleges in the world!
The fact is that each one of us has the ability to succeed at what ever we choose whether we are considered "educated" or not. A person who relies to heavily on formal education to succeed, can find themselves in serious trouble financially.
Recently, I had a brief business association with an M.I.T. Graduate/investment banker on wall street. My business association with him was brief, due to the fact that he seemed to be anything but educated outside of the scope of his formal training. This may be why he is struggling financially at this time.
In conclusion, to me, an educated person is someone who can accomplish what ever they want in life, whether formally trained or not.

Recycling Is More Than Just Aluminum Cans
By Christopher John
Most of us have come to realize the importance of recycling our aluminum cans. This has actually been a good habit that has been carried down through generations by some since the 1960's. It of course has become more popular recently since many of us have become more "green" minded. There are however many other items that we come in contact with on daily basis in which recycling should be considered. They include..
Plastic soda bottles (polythylene terephthalate) are also highly recyclable. But don't forget you can also recycle High density polythylene or HDPE plastic items like milk jugs and laundry soap bottles. You may have to call around a bit to find who will take them in your area though.
Glass bottles and other glass products. Glass is a very recyclable material and is not being recycled by many of us. You will need to call around to see who will take it, but all clean glass colored or clear is recyclable.
Computer Monitors and televisions can be extremely hazardous to our environment when not disposed pf properly. Many communities provide special days where you can dispose of these items for free. Doing so will give you the peace of mind of knowing that they are being recycled properly.
Unused or broken Appliances have many recyclable parts, as well as the ability to be repaired and brought back into service. Pull out your local newspaper or go online to find many different appliance dealers and repair people who will pick these items up. Many of them will actually pay you for them but at very least they can be picked up free of charge.
Car Batteries and Motor oil are two more types of of recyclables that can be extremely dangerous to the environment if not disposed of properly. Fortunately both car batteries and motor oil can be recycled and used again in their formerly used capacities. You can turn them in at many different auto repair facilities for free.
So now we have covered some of the different materials that can be recycled.
There are a variety of other recyclables such as paper and steel products as well. Many of the items mentioned above can be recycled with a minimum of trouble, so we should all consider recycling them. At very least we should properly dispose of the hazardous items listed above. Doing so will provide a cleaner environment for all of us.

Why Not Turn Your Excercise Into An Adventure
By Christopher John
People today can spend hundreds of dollars per year paying for a gym to get their exercise. And although this can be a great and convenient way to get our much needed daily workout, an added treat can be to go hiking to a different destination once in a while.
It doesn't have to be a trip across the country to be nothing short of an exciting adventure. There are virtually hundreds of inviting destinations that you can go to that are close enough to just make a day of it.
Hiking can be done in your local mountains or hills, and there are hiking trails that can be found in local parks that can be fun and interesting to hike on. You can even plan special trips outside of your local area that can be accomplished in a day.
There are books that have different destinations such as abondened mining towns and mines that can be fun to visit and hike at. I wouldn't advise venturing into an abandoned mine, but just hiking in the area can be a blast, and who knows what you might find. With the price of gold as high as it is, even if you stumbled upon a very small amount it could prove to be quite rewarding.
Hiking by streams, lakes and rivers can also be an adventure. Especially if you pack your fishing gear and hike into some remote area where the fishing is nice. You can hike in, catch lunch and diner and hike back out all in one day.
The whole point is to get creative and get out and enjoy the scenery once in a while. Spend the day with your family hiking and it can be like a mini vacation. It sure beats walking around the mall or sitting in a dark movie theatre. And it can give the whole family an opportunity to breathe some fresh air and see what the forest and wilderness looks like outside of the T.V. and movie screen.
One word of caution.
If you do go hiking in remote areas, never go alone and always tell someone exactly where you'll be and when you'll be back. Also bring along some Bear repelant spray in case you run into one. Bears rarely attack unless they feel threatened or that their cubs are threatened, but it is always better to be safe than sorry.

If You Can't Find A Job, Make One Find You
By Christopher John
With the job market jumping up and down, its hard to know what to do and where to go these days. When jobs that traditionally go to the young people of society are going to older folks that not long ago were considered "over qualified," it can be a confusing task indeed. Let's look at some qualities that can make you stand out.
I have no intention of boring you with the same old "create a good resume" nonsense. Everybody already knows that. Really, good resumes are a dime a dozen these days and although they are a stone that you don't want to leave unturned, there are other things you need to remember.
1. Let them know your a qualified trainee.
If you can't find openings for what you are trained for, don't run to McDonald's right away. If you are a business professional willing to learn, look for other openings that you can be quickly trained for. If you have the right attitude and present yourself as a qualified trainee, you can get hired, regardless of your experience.
2. Don't be afraid.
If you approach a potential employer and act nervous and uneasy, it can leave a bad impression. Just because they are sitting on the employer side of the desk doesn't mean they are smarter or better than you. Speak to them eye to eye with confidence in your voice. Don't ever be arrogant, just be positive in yourself and abilities.
3. Go in and ask for the job.
Some of the best jobs out there you will never find in the newspaper or advertised. Go into potential places of employment and submit your resume, even if they are not hiring. Keep on approaching them and letting them know of your interest in their company. Try and get an interview and sweep them off their feet. Everyone wants someone who will be an asset to their company, and you must make them see that is exactly what you are.
4. Keep trying and never give up.
A quitter never wins and a winner never quits. Keep on looking everywhere you can and don't settle for less than you are worth. If you come in begging for any job they have you'll be fortunate to get anything.
Keep on working at it and eventually you will get that job. Stay positive and focused and work hard at it. Don't give up!

Keep Your Taste Buds Poppin, Not your Buttons.
By Christopher John
One of the most difficult problems people have when trying to lose weight or keep it off, is finding recipes that will keep their taste buds happy, while staying within the boundaries of what ever the method it is they are using to win the weight wars. Let's take a look at some recipe gathering/creating suggestions.
There are virtually thousands upon thousands of websites & blogs, that have recipes for pretty much every type of dish and eating style you can think of. That being said, what's the best way to seek them out in an organized and successful manner?
1st. Make a list of all the types of foods that you like to eat. This should include the ones that are in harmony with your selected weight loss method of eating, as well as those that are not.
2nd. Separate them into categories such as main dish, side dish, appetizers, salads, and of course, deserts.
3rd. Now start to seek out recipes online for your selected healthy eating method. Just google them and be straight forward about it. If you are for instance looking for a low fat way to cook fried chicken, simply google low fat fried chicken recipes. You may be surprised at the more than a few recipes you will find. Now start looking at the ones that seem the most appealing to you and start printing them out.
Make sure to keep an eye on the different ingredients for each of the dishes and watch for suggestions they sometimes will make for substitutions. Also, don't be afraid to substitute ingredients of your own accord and liking. Sometimes you can add something or substitute something to someone else's recipe and end up with a dish you will love for the rest of your life.
Be imaginative and creative!
For instance, take a dish that is normally synonymous with say "High carb" eating, and make it low carb. You could use provolone cheese instead of high carb tortillas and make mini tacos! Take a couple of low carb pancakes and use them as hamburger buns and make cheeseburgers. Use sucralose with regular relish and mayonnaise and make a low carb tartar sauce. Your only limits are your imagination!
Remember,to lose weight and keep it off, you must find or develop fat losing and weight maintaining recipes you can enjoy for the rest of your life. Otherwise you'll find yourself eating the wrong kinds of foods again. And that can lead to gaining the weight back and more besides!
If you or a client would like to sell your Privately held real estate note, Structured settlement, or Annuity, or need Mortgage Financing for both high or low credit scores, call C.J.F. & Associates at 1-800-908-9312 or go to our website at http://www.cash4you123.com for more information.

Considering Playing The Bass Guitar?
By Christopher John
When I was in my pre- teens, my older Brother Jerry decided that he wanted to start a band with me and my brother Bill. Jerry decided that he would play the guitar, Bill would play the drums, and I was elected to play the bass guitar. I have never forgotten those years as a musician, and I never will.
Of course, it's not necessary to try and become a rock star or anything just because you learn to play the electric twanger. It's really a lot more fun just to play as a hobby, although learning to play will take some time, just like any other instrument.
First you should decide what type of music it is you want to play, that will help you select the style of bass you'll want. There are a number of different types of bass guitars available, including your standard four string, five string and even six string models. You may want to choose a solid body or perhaps a hollow body acoustic, and of course there is always the "old standard" stand up bass. (Which I have always felt is probably one of the most difficult types to play).
The method of playing is also another thing you'll have to consider. For instance, the stand up type bass has always traditionally been played using the fingers, but when playing the regular electric or even acoustic type bass guitars, you could also choose to use a soft or hard type pick, or even play using the "slap" method commonly used in a jazz or a disco type setting.
When first learning, it's always best to start out with an inexpensive model. This way you won't spend a lot of money before you know if you are really serious about learning or not. You can find a used bass guitar suitable for learning on for as little as $100.00 or less. My first one was a regular six string guitar purchased from a drug store catalog, that my brother crudely converted it into a 4 string bass. It was by no means the easiest bass I ever played, but that was what I learned on.
Once you have learned well enough and know you are going to stick with it, there are a wide variety of more expensive models that can cost you upwards of a thousand dollars or more. You can take lessons or learn yourself if you like. I suggest taking at least a few lessons when your first starting out.
